F. Becker Drane has a pretty nice and average life. He does well in school, his parents take care of him, he watches movies, plays games, everything you do, that is until he filled out an application for the "Best Job in the World". The "Best Job in the World" just happens to be in a whimsical and unbelievable place called the Seems. Everywhere from the Department of Time, to the Department of Public Works, to the Department of Weather, the Seems is what keeps our World going. But, not everything goes right. Disturbances in the Seems causes panic, until they call in a special man for the job, A Fixer. The "Best Job in the World" is to take care of the Seems and then the World. And this is the story of Becker Drane's missions as a Fixer. But, I bet your asking, "Lex, this book is way too much science fiction, so not my style". That's where your wrong. Let me show you.
The series was written by two writers working together. John Hulme and Michael Wexler did a fine job with this series. This book is perfect for kids in the pre-teen and teen kids. It combines action, adventure, science fiction, a little fairy-tale action here or there, suspense, comedy, and for the older kids, a little romance. This book series definitely has everything. Although, I'm shocked what kind of language it uses. P--s, D--n, make an appearance, but other mild words like freakin', that are less than pleasant, I suppose. But, if your not comfortable, that doesn't mean it isn't a great book. I have to give my apologies, though, to the writers because the second and third books did have a few dead spots, which kind of left you wandering and not really focusing to intently on the book itself. It does have a lot of edge-of-your-seat action, almost like a classic superhero story. Big time hero shows up, beats the odds and wins, then falls down in pain because of a mistake, but then comes back stronger than every and beats the bad guy, which in this case is the thing that needs to be fixed.
I loved this book series overall though, despite any bad things about it. This book is totally for anyone, I don't doubt a thing about it. I wish they'd a movie with these books already. Lex Gray and L.I.B.R.A.R.-E. gives it a generous 4 out of 5 stars. Keep that page turning, everyone! Goodbye!
